
Opening Week Schedule
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Greetings from District 20 Pre-K Centers! We’re excited to welcome your family to a new school year. Please note the following important information and dates:
Tuesday, September 2nd – Virtual Parent Orientation: All parents are invited to attend our virtual orientation. Details and login information will be shared by your site coordinator.
Thursday, September 4th – First Day of School (small group):
Families will attend 1.5 hours of class with their child to encourage transitioning and support. This hour will consist of the following:

Touring the classroom and reviewing routines

Parent teacher interactions to support individual students

(Breakfast) morning session/(Lunch) afternoon session

Engaging in play with your child to reinforce that school is a safe place to learn and play
Group A- Children with last names beginning with A to L 8:30 am to 10:00 am
Group B- Children with last names beginning with M to Z 10:30 am to 12:00 pm
*Parents are encouraged to remain with their child in the classroom. Parents that cannot attend the first day are welcome to send any family member in their place.
Friday, September 5th – (small group):
Parents will drop off their child and return at the scheduled dismissal time. This will be a supported opportunity for families to practice arrival and dismissal with students with a shortened school day.

Children will be engaging in play with their teacher in a small group and building relationships to support that school is a safe place to learn and play.
Group A- Children with last names beginning with A to L 8:30 am to 10:00 am
Group B- Children with last names beginning with M to Z 10:30 am to 12:00 pm
Monday, September 8th:
3K students will attend from 8:30 am to 11:30 am (breakfast and lunch served)
Pre-K students attend a full day from 8:30am-2:40 pm (breakfast and lunch served)
Tuesday, September 9th:
All students attend a full day from 8:30am-2:40 pm (breakfast and lunch served)
Wednesday, September 17th:
Parent/Teacher Curriculum Evening (virtual) – Details and scheduling to be announced.
